If you have just got engaged, congratulations! Now the fun begins with planning your wedding. It can seem a bit daunting to know where to start, but a wedding fair can be a brilliant place to get ideas and talk to the suppliers face to face. Some of the big wedding fairs will charge an admission fee to get in, which can be around £13 to £16 per adult.
There will be lots of exhibitors, probably a catwalk bridal show and lots of visitors. Some brides comment that because of the size of the show you don’t really get a chance to try dresses on etc., and it can be quite a pressurised environment. Others just enjoy the day and go to get ideas.
Local shows, particularly if it is hosted by a venue, are often free to get in and you will have suppliers from the area. Our wedding fairs at The Beaverwood take place in February and October each year.
Organised by specialist wedding exhibition company, Best Brides, we have about 30 exhibitors from cakes to cars, in our beautiful venue. Not only is it a great chance to talk to have a look around The Beaverwood, there are often good show deals or special offers to take advantage of.
Pick up as many leaflets and business cards as you need and don’t be pressurised into making decisions on the day. You can always go back and have another look around, or visit a suppliers’ shop / premises. Check out some of the larger items, such as cars and white bouncy castles (yes, at The Beaverwood we have the perfect space for these!), or listen to DJs and vocalists.
Chat to stylists if you are struggling with colour schemes and themes – they can transform a room into your dream. We also have our photographers at The Image Studio on site who can chat to you about engagement and boudoir shoots as well as wedding photography if you wish.
Do bring someone along with you, as it’s good to have someone else’s opinion, and makes the day more fun! Our next wedding fair is on 16 October from 11am to 3.30pm and admission is free. To pre-register visit bestbrides.co.uk
